So, yesterday my dad asks me over the msn if I knew what a LIGAR was... I confess, I didn't know. They are the largest felines on the planet, ans guess what? They're artificially made! I mean, they are a breeding between a male Lion and a female Tiger, hence, LIGER. It seems there is also the TIGON, but I'm not sure that it's not the same...Anyway, I thought it to be a really curious thing so here they are:

By the way, this is quite a curious thing. Breeding two different species isn't possible most of the times, but when it is, it usually results in animals much bigger than any of their parents (something to do with an irregular expression of the gene that commands their growth limit).
The opposite can happen too! (which... emmm... makes me wonder about my own parents sometimes) :)
