"It is error only, and not truth, that shrinks from inquiry." (Thomas Paine)

Escaping one's culture, paradigm or ideology is very rare and can be only achieved in special circumstances of a consciousness leap. Hence, it is almost impossible.

Well then, having said that, here is a little something to think about:
A quiz for the wise (and the not-so-wise)...

1) Name a ruler, whose religion gave birth to the concept of religious fundamentalism... Anybody? I bet you're thinking of some arabic name... Well, guess again!

Correct answer: George W, Bush. The "fundamentalist" movement was born in the early twentyeth century amongst conservative protestants in the USA. Their ideas were to defend the fundamental issues of faith...

ok, ok... another chance:

2) Name a ruler whose not only his but also his government's philosophical foundation is based on a political philosophy named "Theological Politics"... Anyone? arabic again? haven't you learned?!?

Correct answer: George W. Bush - again... His advisory staff, who defines the profile of his government policy, is practically all formed by a political scientist called Leo Strauss, whose political views were shaped by another political Philosopher called Carl Schmitt, a member of the Nazi party whose idea of politicas is that of "theological politicas", where the ruler transcends the laws he imposes on his people.

Another little thing about Leo Strauss: He believes politics has only one form: violence. No rules, no values, no structure, no truth, no sense, no solidarity, no compassion, no afection - just violence - but the ruler must emit an image that assures the avarage man that all of these exist and are important in his government - so he can covertly continue to exercise violence.

The way these concepts have been manipulated in the midia in the last few years is overwhelming...

Dangerous game you play with these comments.

Indeed, fundamentalist began where Sacred Texts were transformed by men who didn't realize the consequence of his acts. The words have power to change things, thus making a bad use of them gives birth to a lot of bad things, one of these things are the fundamentalism, where people who wasn't satisfied with the scriptures, or who know why they decided to twist the words, simply narrowed the viewpoint and interpretation on such words for use in it's own purpose.

Speaking about fundamentalist, we have cristian fundamentalists, jewish fundamentalism, islamic fundamentalism and on. The problem with such things is when people who are subject to these don't have the criticism to say "This is not good." or else go back to the origins to know what kind of stuff they are dealing with.

Good would be if every people went back to the origins every time they learn something knew, just to know what things really represents.
